Exhibit: Involving the local community and alumni

During the Musselburgh Festival in summer 2024, Martha had a stall to showcase her work and plans for the 150th anniversary sculpture. This provided Martha with a wonderful opportunity to capture the local community who regularly visit the ɬÂþÌìÌà campus.

Using examples and images of her previous designs, participants had the chance to try their hand at drawing in Martha’s distinctive ‘cut-out’ style.

It was also a wonderful opportunity to capture the local community who regularly visit the ɬÂþÌìÌà campus. Martha had the chance to chat with them about what ɬÂþÌìÌà means to them and hear their stories firsthand.

Some of the most popular drawing suggestions included cups of coffee from the ɬÂþÌìÌà Students’ Union, Maggie’s, dogs out on their daily walks around the campus, and of course, the beloved resident swans!
