ɬÂþÌìÌÃ

Exhibit: Arts, Social Sciences & Management

As part of her research, Martha explored the dynamic world of the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management (ASSAM), gaining insight into the diverse range of subjects, perspectives, and experiences it offers.

From outdoor learning in Maggie's Wood, to stage rehearsals in ɬÂþÌìÌÃ’s black box studio - it was such a privilege for Martha to be welcomed into the students’ lessons and be a ‘fly on the wall’.

She found that the diversity across every learning environment and teaching space was really inspiring, albeit sometimes challenging to capture in a drawing.

Visiting the Howff, ɬÂþÌìÌÃ’s traditionally built outdoor shelter where classes, studying and rehearsals can take place; the costume department; classrooms and drama spaces offered a glimpse into the enriching learning experience that ɬÂþÌìÌà offers its students.

One of Martha’s most memorable moments during her research of this group was sitting in on and photographing an ‘Acting for Stage’ class.

She watched as students stepped into the spotlight one by one, delivering powerful monologues, then listening intently to feedback before refining their performances and stepping up to the stage once more.

Martha said:

Seeing the progress and their desire to learn, but also the encouragement and support from their peers and lecturer, was wonderful.
